*Your child needs to have a red and blue singlet to compete. Reversible singlets are okay. The club does have blue/red singlets that a child can use but a deposit is required.
*Attire during practice should be sweats, shorts or singlets. There are to be no clothing of any kind with zippers, buttons, etc.
*Your child will also need wrestling shoes. If a child has no wrestling shoes, kids are allowed to wear shoes that have been only worn inside only with a bottom that will not ripe the mats up.
*You child will need headgear. If none is provided, the club has some that requires a deposit.
*Your child will also need a hankie or paper towel for a blood rage.

Practice
*Practices will run from 5:30 to 7:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Coaches will let you know if there is practice to be held on another day.
*8 and under should go from 5:30 to 6:30 and all others from 5:30 to 7:30
*Please have you child to practice on time. It is very important for you child to do the stretches and warm ups at the beginning of every practive to preven injury.
*Physical Hygiene is very important in wrestling. Kids should shower after every practice and tournament to prevent the spread of germs. If kids are to wear their singlets to practice, singlets will need to laundered between practices to prevent the spread of germs.
*Nails will also need to be shortened to prevent the spread of germs and scratches on other kids
*There is to be no jewelry of any kind worn during practice.
*Parents are welcome in the wrestling rooms. If you are going to help in the wrestling room please only help with the moves the coaches are showing them and have been working on. Please try to keep talking to minimum in the wrestling room so the kids can hear the coaches. If talking or parent interference becomes and issue the coaches may aske the individuals involved to leave the room. If it becomes a continuing issue all parents may be asked to stay out of the wrestling room during practices.

Sportsmanship
*Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated from our wrestlers, coaches, or parents. If you are a witness to any poor behavior please let a coach or board memeber know so that we can take immediate action.

All important information will be sent home with the kids. Please remember that the coaches and board memebers are all volunteers. We all do our best to give the kids a fun and encouraging environment. We are always looking for help so if there is something you think would help our club in any way please let us know. We look forward to a wonderful and fun-filled wrestling year.

Tournaments
*Make sure you're on time to tournaments. Most tournaments do not allow you to weight in late unless there are extenuating circumstances.
*State tournaments are pre-registration events. Registration forms will be sent home from practice with a note saying when they need to be returned. If you miss the date for the form to be turned in you will not be able to participate in these tournaments. State tournaments are for wrestlers 7 years old and older.

* For all tournaments you can tell which color singlet your child should be wearing by checking the brackets. Brackes are usually hung up in the hallways close to the wrestling area. For folkstyle tournaments the wrestler on the top line each pairing wears red. For freestyle or greco tournaments the wrestler with a dot next to their name wears a red singlet.

Referees and Pairers
*We need parent volunteers to help with refereeing and pairing. Each club needs to provide referees and pairers at tournaments to qualif for team points.
*Trainging is provided through clinics throught out the state to become referees and pairers. Our club will let parents know when these clinics are.
*You must get your cards online at
www.themat.com . To recieve the card a background check will need to be done.
*The benefits of being an official is you are able to mat side for your child's matches and the club will pay for your rooms at state tournaments.

Coaches
The club has designated coaches who will do their best to be at local tournaments. However, these coaches volunteer their time and may not be able to make all tournaments. If you are interested in being able to coach your child at his/her tournaments you will need to have a coach's card which you can purchase at
www.themat.com. Like a pairer you will need to pass a background check before the card is issued and you will also need to attend a state sponsored coches clinic.
*Your child must have a coach on the mat to compete. If a coach does not come to your child's mat right away, please have your child let the table help know that a coach needs to be paged to the mat. We have a lot of kids who compete and your child may have to wait for a coach. There are usually dads/moms in the stands who are willing to help coach your child.
